On the move again
..and so the sun sets on our beautiful willow herd.

With quiet dignity they contemplated our comings and goings in Hyde Park: the regal horses lolloping by on Rotten Row; the joggers who eyeballed them, panting, bobbing up and down, jogging away again; the small children who pulled their ears; the tetchy squirrels; the dogs that lifted their hind legs in greeting...

At least they had a break when they were moved to another part of the park for elephant family's fundraising evening, on Sunday. Eight specially-commissioned elephant blankets were auctioned in aid of the corridor project we are working for in partnership with the World Land Trust.

A collection of top British designers: Julien Macdonald, Nicole Farhi, actress Sienna Miller and her sister Savannah for their new label Twenty8Twelve; Ben de Lisi, Theo Fennell, John Rocha, Alice Temperley and Planet, all donated their valuable time and talent - particularly appreciated as it was the start of London Fashion Week. Our heartfelt thanks also to those who bid and won.

And so the trunks around the dell will seem a little sparser tomorrow, but in a corner of Kerala, there will soon be a safe passage for elephants when trunks meet trunks again.

Let's lift our candles/lighters to "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" surely the last call of the elephants as they wander off til next year.
