Left stranded by the London tube strike?
Baby Elephant
For a moment, I thought it was the worst-case scenario: our spectacular herd of willow elephants arrive in Hyde Park yet no-one can get in to town to see them.

But I soon realised that we had simply been trumped by life's natural sense of irony.

For us here at "Trunks Meet Trunks" HQ, one of the London parks was the perfect setting to show how India's forests have been cut up by roads, railways and villages, making it impossible for wild Asian elephants to roam. But by simply preventing so many people getting from A to B, the London tube strike outdid us all with an even better demonstration of the issue!

Perhaps you had planned to drop in to Hyde Park to see the elephants, but instead you are forced to remain at home. You circle the website – round and around you go, hoping to find something new to read. As you do, spare a thought for those grand, old guardians of the forest, the elephants, looking for fresh food in an area they haven't been able to leave for months and you'll soon appreciate the significance of a simple passageway that leads them to another forest.

For me, the soundtrack for today has to be Aretha Franklin's, "Rescue Me".
